What are you looking for? (18 January)

I hope that you have enjoyed a break from your usual routines. Christmas is such a busy time with such an important message: God is with us!

This week my sermon focuses on the challenge of responding to Jesus’ question: ‘What are you looking for?’ And his invitation: ‘Come and see!’ If we take these statements seriously, they act as signposts for the new year. I have had the opportunity to take some downtime in order to reflect on the path ahead. That has been helpful after a busy year.

The world seems to be in such a state of flux that setting our spiritual sails for the journey ahead is time well spent. I look forward to all that we will share together.

We resume two services from Sunday 18 January. I am grateful that parishioners have been willing to worship on one site in recent weeks.

In the coming week we will continue to pray for the victims of the Bondi attack and their families and join with others on Thursday, a National Day of Mourning.

On 25 January we will observe Aboriginal Sunday.
