The rubber hits the road (21 September)

What a challenging gospel we have today (Luke Chapter 1). It’s where the rubber hits the road! How deeply it calls us to look into our lifestyle. This includes the minutiae of the daily round. I say this because it is in focus on God in the moment that we may set and renew our priorities. In my sermon this week I will examine St Ignatius’ notion of detachment. It really comes down to holding possessions with a light touch rather than allowing them to become our focus, when it can be the case that our possessions own us!
