The right use of power (31 August)
What a challenging week this has been in terms of local and international news. As I wrestled with the gospel and the daily news I was drawn deeper into an exploration of the right use of power in our world. As Jesus does so often, he overturns our expectations by the use of parables. Those who are worthy to be blessed by his banquet are the poor and needy, not the wealthy and powerful.
In my sermon I will reflect on the power of the heavenly banquet we call the Eucharist. It is the source of sustenance for all.
This week we have had a Parish Council meeting as well as a face to face meeting for Leading Your Church Into Growth. Hopefully we will soon report on some of these discussions.
Wishing you grace and peace,
Linda
