Seeking truth (10 May)

No doubt you know that it has been a big week in the parish as we come to terms with the news that there will be no Sunday service at St James going forward. I continue to pray, and I hope that our pathway to growth will emerge clear and strong.

I wrote last week’s sermon on Liminality days before any knowledge of our changed circumstances. Today I am praying and thinking around the theme of ‘Truth’. Pilate asked of Jesus ‘What is truth?’ How we seek truth is an issue for all of us to consider. This question, along with the ongoing theme of Liminality will form the focus of my Sunday sermon.

We welcome our manager back to the Op Shop this week. Sincere thanks to all who have kept the wheels turning in her absence.

I do ask you to keep praying that our parish will prosper. If you know you can’t make Sunday service, could you join the parish Eucharist at St James on Thursday? It is important for us to strengthen feelings of solidarity and purpose.
