On righteousness (28 June)
This week our gospel passage (Matthew, Chapter 10, verses 40 to 42) focuses on what it means to live in righteousness. An interesting topic indeed! I will share the thoughts of Rowan Williams from his book Silence and Honey Cakes*. He draws on the wisdom of the fourth-century desert Mothers and Fathers to contrast different ways of being in relation to the Spirit of God. It contains much real-life wisdom.
Our churchwardens are now hard at work developing an updated Mission Action Plan, a necessary step in realising our vision for the future. I am most appreciative of what has already been achieved and of the current effort to take us forward.
With love and blessings,
Linda
