It starts with each of us (19 July)

Three days at Clergy Conference last week was an exhilarating and wondrous experience! Our new Archbishop is a man of skill, energy and passion. Over multiple sessions he unpacked the new vision for the Diocese with wisdom and insight. The masterplan is 80 per cent complete, with room for finetuning based on the input of delegates. Its working title For the Harvest is based on Matthew 9: 37–38.

I learned a great deal. The process was full of hope, honesty and goodwill. There were times when I was out of my comfort zone, but every time I stepped out, I found God waiting for me. We participated in multisensory prayer, and at the close the Archbishop asked all present to move to the front, where he prayed for us and commissioned us to go forward into the harvest. This was a powerful and authentic experience! The role of our parish will emerge over time. Each person was asked to acknowledge: It starts with me.
