God’s glory (17 May)

Another busy week as we collectively process thoughts and feelings related to change. I am grateful to Rev Stephen Delbridge for his support to those who gathered at St James last Sunday. His Theological Reflection left each of us with a personal image that we can carry into the future.

My sermon this week focuses on God’s glory. What a huge concept! I will ponder how we connect to such an impersonal notion in a personal way.

We have Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea coming up at St James on 24 May, after a Sung Eucharist there. This is a major fundraising event for the Cancer Council and I encourage you all to enjoy morning tea together and donate as generously as you can. There will be a Morning Prayer service at All Saints on that day at the usual time of 11:00 AM.

Change is unsettling, but the Gospels encourage us to remember that Jesus is named Emmanuel – God with us. We are not alone; he walks ahead of us.
