Flame and wind (24 May)

We’ve had another unusual week in the parish: perhaps that is appropriate as we celebrate the feast of Pentecost. Have you seen flame and heard a rushing wind? Perhaps those expressions of the Spirit are internal and personalised. The Day of Pentecost calls us all to focus on self-opening, truth-telling and listening for the truth. These activities may be unfamiliar and uncomfortable.

Bishop Alison’s visit this week has been most useful – inviting us to consider a path to revitalisation. In my sermon I will ponder how the Holy Spirit may work amid such challenges. Thank you so much to all who assisted with preparing for this process!
